The Fastest Way to Lose Weight and Keep It Off For the Rest or Your Life
If you are looking for the fastest way to lose weight, you have come to the right place. However, I’m not going to just tell you how to lose weight… Nope. I am going to tell you about the fastest way to lose weight AND keep it off.
If you’ve read some of my other posts, you probably already know that I used to be over weight. I mean REALLY overweight. I used to carry a little over 100 EXTRA POUNDS OF FAT on my petite frame. It came from years of:
Eating the wrong foods (mainly junk food and sweets)
Eating TOO much (because I enjoy the feeling of a full stomach)
Lack of ANY type of exercise
3 pregnancies (each about 3 years apart)
The stress of raising 3 children (part of that time I raised them alone)
But, after being severely overweight for about 10 years, I finally “got it” and started changing the way that I lived. Granted, it didn’t happen all at once. In fact, I lost about 20 pounds swapping out some of my bad foods with healthier choices. Then I lost a few more pounds by reducing the amount that I would regularly eat. Then, I had a relapse and gained it all back. After a few months, I would start the cycle all over again.
There were also several times when I thought that I had found the fastest way to lose weight in the form of some fad diet, pill, or expensive home exercise machine… but, none that ever worked. Fad diets are just that – Fads. Pills are expensive and are never designed to work without changing your other bad habits. And machines are great if you use them, but I was never motivated enough to even try for more than a week or two.
It wasn’t until I broke my ADDICTION to food that I truly discovered the fastest way to lose weight and keep it off.
You see. An addiction to food can be just as powerful as cigarettes, alcohol or any of the powerful street drugs available today. Food (especially fatty foods or sweets) can cause the brain to release a surge of dopamine that can make you feel happy and content. It’s part of the same chemical cocktail that is released when you fall in love, and who doesn’t enjoy the feeling of being in love?
Personally, I used food as a emotional pain-killer, and relaxation drug. I mean, after a stressful day of working in an office where you are constantly looked at as a freak for being overweight, combined with taking care of 3 children when I got home, why shouldn’t I be allowed to feel good by stuffing myself with a big dinner and a bowl of ice cream before I fall asleep on the couch at night?
But, I digress…
My addiction to food was holding me back. As I said before, it wasn’t until I learned to break my addiction to food that I FINALLY discovered the fastest way to lose weight and actually KEEP it off for good. I didn’t do it for them… I did it for me.
